Proper GP
A club is more than the company that owns it.
Owners come and go. The badge, the supporters and the town endure. Proper's approach is patient: good stewardship, and the time to make a club stronger on the pitch and in its town.
Too often, clubs have been treated as trophies or short-term bets. Debt took the place of good judgement, and academies and facilities were left behind.
Proper starts from the other end: a well-run club that develops its players, earns its own way and stays close to its town.

The approach
The club. The athlete. The town.
Proper treats all three as one. The care that goes into how a player trains, recovers and develops can shape how the club is run and how it serves the people around it.

The players
Every player, prepared as an individual.
Proper's approach to performance starts with the person: how each player trains, recovers, adapts and grows. It is the standard of elite sport, brought to the whole squad.

The pathway
From the academy to the first team.
The same care reaches the young players coming through the academy, with a path toward the first team.

A place to prepare
Ready together.
A changing room is where a squad gets ready as one. Better conditions alone do not win matches; they are one part of a bigger plan for the season.

From the players to the people
The club reaches beyond the dressing room.
What happens inside a club is felt by everyone around it: the supporters, the families and the town.

Community
Carried through generations.
Saturdays still shape the week. Season tickets pass from parents to children. When a club rises, its town rises with it.

The next generation
His turn.
Proper sees supporters and local people as part of the club's strength. Community programmes, local partnerships and a pathway for young players are part of how it plans to run a club.

The club in its town
Programmes in the town.
Selected community programmes may support health and personal development locally, and help supporters and local partners take part, where they are separately funded.

Learning from the game
Belonging is a responsibility.
Brentford Community Sports Trust shows how community work can support a club's local standing. Athletic Club Bilbao shows an identity closely connected to its community.
Proper will learn from both, respecting each club's circumstances. Neither can simply be copied.

Paying its own way
A club that earns its keep.
Many clubs underuse what they already have: their name, their ground, their history and their supporters. Building sponsorship, merchandise and the matchday around the club's own identity aims to bring in steady, recurring income.
That income can create room to spend responsibly on the squad, and make the club less dependent on an owner's money or on selling players to make ends meet.

Built to climb
One plan for the whole season.
Promotion is earned across a whole season. Proper brings recruitment, the squad, the choice of manager and the season's planning together in one plan, so the club can compete within its means and aim higher.
